It's in Hollywood CA, but there is going to be a live webcast of the event! (read below)
Get ready to see skateboarding’s top pros and ams vie for their piece of
$85,000 as the 6th Annual Downtown Showdown presented by Rockstar Energy
Drink invades Paramount Studios’ Back Lot this Saturday, October 2. The
top teams in skateboarding including Girl, Zero, Toy Machine,
Foundation, Black Label, Blind, Element and Powell Peralta submitted
plans for obstacles and Vans has picked the best of the lot.
Black Label, Girl, Zero and Foundation’s designs have been chosen and
custom built as part of this year’s Showdown course. Each team will
session the four unique obstacles in a round-robin format with awards
going out for top team, best pro, top am and best performance by

Those that can’t make it to this year’s Showdown can catch a live

2 from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
Viewers will also have a chance to win up to $10,000 in prizes from Vans

Friday Sept 17th was the TRENT RIVERSIDE SLIP & SLIDE! In support of the RIVERSIDE RAIL JAM. There was a giant 150' slip & slide down Gowski hill plus mud wrestling plus DJ Muddler & DJ WHO laying down the jams. Not to mention, a fire with drum circle, body painting and a slew of other fun things going down. Later on Splice opened up to host the official after party where people got their drink & dance on. Check out the pics!

(Matthew Hart aka: The Russian Futurists)
The much anticipated 4th album from Toronto based The Russian Futurists (Upper Class) is due to drop on November 16th 2010. In the meantime; the first single "Hoeing Weeds, Sowing Seeds" is available for download at The Russian Futurists' website.
The track is mixed by Grammy Award Winner Michael Brauer who has mixed everything from Luther Vandross "Never too Much" to Coldplay's "Viva La Vida"

UC (Upper Class) is thrilled to spread the good word that The Russian Futurists is back with a stunning new album - The Weight's On The Wheels - due out November 16th. The Futurists produced the new album with the aid of Michael Musmanno (Outkast, Lilys, Arrested Development) and sonically takes his sound out of the bedroom and onto the airwaves. The Weight's On The Wheels captures the Futurists in full pop regalia from start to finish.

Flavour & Obey in conjunction with the Obey Pop Up Shop & the Arts & Labour Party present our new edition the downtown landscape...(drum roll) a giant mural conceptualized & painted by local artist, friend and all around awesome guy Carlo Raponi. The piece is called Inspiration (as cryptically written on the piece. Big thanks to Obey for supplies, Brand Health for allowing us to paint their wall, and of course a huge thanks to Carlo for all his time & hard work. I'm sure there will be another in the future. Ps: Keep an eye out for the stop motion video of the entire mural in progress coming soon!!
