I'm dreaming of a white Christmas......

It's hard to believe that Christmas is only TEN DAYS away, and there is not a speck of snow out there! Perhaps you are finding it hard to get into the Christmas spirit because of it (or perhapsyou are like me, sitting on your living room floor, with a Santa-sized jug of Egg Nog, crying over Elvis' "Blue Christmas" once again...) Whatever your situation, we've got the fix!

It may not feel like December outside, but we are definitely feeling the Christmas spirit at Flavour! And just one of our gifts to you is a sweet $10 off all of our cozy knit sweaters!

Tracy is rocking a super comfy leopard Lola's Room cardigan (which you can also score in grey! I am not-so-secretly hoping Santa puts it under my tree, instead of a wad of coal like every other year!) It is the pefect length to wear with leggings or jeans, and can easily be dressed up or down. Mikey tries to look extra tough in Volcom's Offline sweater. (But I still think he looks nice.)

Volcom's spicy Twisted Sista sweater dress in Tobacco is ready to go as is, or throw a belt at the waist to add your own spin to it! Cuddle up in this with leggings and boots, maybe some leg warmers and you are ready to go caroling. Or do something cooler.

LRG keeps it real cozy with the Strong Ale knit. It even looks good on panda bears!

Alright kiddies! That's what we're bringing ya for today! Come by the shop for these and to peep more awesome knits to throw on your list!

Flavour loves you!

- Tracy xoxo

Gimmie! I need it! I must have! NOW! NOW! NOW!....Thanks Santa.

Lost for Christmas ideas?....Peep Some of the staff favorites! :)...Happy Holla-day y'all.

Mikey just can't believe that this rad OMIT baseball tee has been here more than a hot 24 hours! Get here and grab it before he does. Mikey: "I want it!"

One of the best things about the holidays is blowing everyone's mind in a sweet new party dress! It's one of those few times when there is loads to get fancy about, and even I can get into that with the help of a little bit of Christmas cheer.... know what I mean!?!?! This leopard print Volcom dress is exactly the kind of 60's throwback I love!

Flavour loves you. xoxo.

-Tracy!

Freshjive Holiday 2011 Video Preview

Freshjive gives you a preview of their 2011 Holiday collection, a behind the scenes/behind the factory video inspired by the filthiness of downtown L.A.'s Skid Row.

The video features Hodgy Beats and Left Brain of Mellowhype/OFWGKTA & a full cast of down and dirty characters. Showing the biggest looks of season in the true Freshjive style - chameleon knits working their way south of the border, bright-ass heavyweight chinos, denim loungers and more of their iconic, irreverent graphic tees thrown in to the mix for guaranteed smiles.

Flavour Artist Series Tee Featuring Russ Davidson

GYEAHHH!!!

The final frontier in our four part Artist Series Tees comes from Russ Davidson.

Here's a few words from our boy!

MW
Hey Russ, you are known for you're song writing and guitar shredding, namely RIKERS right now, but your tee shirt design turned out amazing, so do you find that art and music go hand in hand?

RD
I'd say visual art and music are completely different creative outlets for me. Music tends to be more of a stressful thing.. but stressful in a good way! whereas painting and such usually calls for a bottle of wine, solitude and my fav records spinning.

MW
Your website is www.itsonlyrockandrollart.blogspot.com, how do you choose your subjects for you're pieces to paint?

RD
It usually has to do with their historical importance in music. They're all hugely influential and still relevant to this day. It helps that for the most part they're all style icons as well.

MW
I heard through the grapevine there will be a HUGE live event New Year's Eve, can you tell people about that?

RD
New Years Eve should be a fun one! Mikey and Bryan's band 'The Lumberman' are playing as well as a fantastic young band called 'Meteor Empire' and my band Rikers have some shenanigans planned. It's all taking place at the Red Dog.

MW
Here it is, the desert island question, what record would you have to have with you?

RD
Hmmm. Thats really hard to say. I mean... would I actually have a record player? and electricity to boot?? I'd probably go with a DJ Ralph mixtape, or a Bowie record... 'Hunky Dory' maybe.

MW
Thanks Russ, to get your hands on the only Flavour collab that comes in men's and women's, be at Flavour Saturday December 3rd for it's exclusive release. It's Only Rock and Roll Art itsonlyrockandrollart.blogspot.com

Flavour Artist Series Tee Featuring Zack Wood

FRIDAYYYY!!!!

Todays Artist Series Tee is brought to you by teen heartthrob Zack Morri...I mean Wood.

Awesome, right?

Got in touch with Zach Wood local artist extraordinaire to discuss his tee shirt design for Flavour artists collab and asked him some questions to get into the head of the world traveller himself, here's what he said:

MW

Hey Zach, heard you just got back from a European excursion, see any cool art over there?

ZW

I was in Sweden and Italy for a short while. In Milan I helped some of the students at an art school put some giant sunglasses in the middle of a piazza which was fun... I also checked out Michaelangelos last Pieta and that was amazing. I only saw Vodka in Sweden.

MW

Any up and coming localish artists you know that the Flavour crew should check out?

ZW

Obviously Lyall Brownlee is a local artist who is amazing. A Localish artist you should check out is my friend Mat Brown out of Toronto... I just saw his work at the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art. Shit blew my mind. http://www.cuttsgallery.com/dynamic/artist.asp?ArtistID=38

MW

You have a big art show coming up in a well known Toronto Gallery soon, can you tell us about what we should expect to see?

ZW

I'm in a show with Andy Decola in Sept. 2012 that I'm working on right now ( http://www.andydecola.com/ ) at Neubacher Shor Contemporary gallery... I'm not sure what I can tell you that you can expect to see... I'm all over the place right now. It will be a spectacle I'm sure.

MW

Your Flavour tee shirt has a Misfits based design on it, if anyone was to download or hey god forbid, even buy on song by the Misfits, what should it be and why?

ZW

I'd say listen to "Bullet" or "Skulls" . The romantic lyrics put me in the mood...

Flavour Artist Series Tees Featuring Bryan Reid

Today's Artist Series tee comes to you via lazerbeam from Bryan Reid. "No Haters In Space" is here in limited quantities, so get one before they go into deep freeze!

Here are a few choice words between Mike 'Weezy' Watt and Bryan:

MW:
"so today i leaned over my desk and caught up with the infamous BRs-one for a quick convo on his Flavour artist series collab tee - hey BR, can you pass me the hole punch? ... You are more widely known for your photography, but when you do your graphic design pieces where do you find your inspiration?

BR:
Well aside from the beauty of nature & The Simpsons...I get a lot of inspiration from the internet actually, there is so much weird, awesome, artistic & hilarious stuff going on, on a day to day basis that I usually get an idea from seeing something really cool online. I love image sites like ffffound.com & tumblr.com

MW:
If you could teach someone about graphic design, what lesson is the most important for them to learn

BR:
I'd say don't wait on learning it in a class room. You can learn so much by just doing it. Acquire a copy of photoshop & get to it. There are lots of tutorials online, and if you're patient, they can really help. If you're passionate about what you do, it will show.

MW:
If any of the Flavour Posse wants to see more of your work, what's the best way for them to do that?

BR:
They can check out: bryanreid.tumblr.com - it's my photo blog where I post up new stuff I've shot recently. I don't have a place for my graphic design work just yet, but if you pay attention to our blog or look at any of our event & in-store posters you can see my work! :)

MW:
And finally, you're design has two astronaut's on it, if you could go to space what record, food and girl would you have to have with you?

BR:
I'd have to say: boards of canada - (music has the right to children), pizza & Jess Russell.
Wait, does chocolate milk count as food? cuz that would be dope too.

MW:
Thanks BR, now get back to work, to snag one of BR's designs it comes out this Thursday, December 1st exclusively at Flavour
